Innovo Benefits Group, a privately owned and operated firm dedicated to elevating benefits management programs through innovation and quality customer service, is thrilled to announce its upcoming webinar, "Employee Classifications 101: Pay Your Employees Properly." This informative webinar will be held on January 31, 2024.

The webinar aims to delve into the nuances of employment classification, offering valuable insights into navigating the complexities of workforce classification within legal frameworks. Attendees will gain knowledge on compliance measures, avoiding penalties, and effectively managing employee classifications in adherence to the law.

On January 9, the U.S. Department of Labor announced a final rule on employee classification with regard to employees versus independent contractors, making this webinar particularly important to employers and human resources professionals. The rule, which goes into effect on March 11, rescinds the 2021 independent contractor rule, provides guidance on proper classification, and inhibits employee misclassification — which can impact workers’ rights to minimum wage and overtime pay, can enable wage theft, and allows some employers to undercut competition.

The discussion will be led by Innovo's Allyson Hay (Director of Human Resources Services) and Tasha Wilder (HR Consultant) and will be joined by Jeffrey S. Siegel, an attorney from Morgan, Brown & Joy with a great deal of experience representing employers in diverse labor and employment scenarios.
